Rome's Highlights Tour Description

Among cities of the world none remain more famous for their transformation by sunset then Rome. The striking contrast of light on the white marble masterpieces and cascading water transform not only the sights but the seer.

Starting from the Spanish steps we take a stroll through the history and art of Rome in the beautiful dusk light. First, you will learn about the romantics poets that took their inspiration seated upon the Spanish steps and toss your coins into the world renowned Trevi Fountain, then you will read the visual history of battle and victory portrayed on the ancient column of Trajan, and see the place where once lived the great Michelangelo.

You’ll see where Mussolini declared war on the Allied Nations and where the most famous of histories dictators fell at the hands of Brutus and the Liberators.

You will experience the most glorious feat of architecture in all the world - the Pantheon - and stroll through an ancient stadium transformed into a baroque square in Piazza Navona.

Finishing off you’ll be brought to Campo De' Fiori what was once a market for flowers and square for public execution is today the center of roman night life and some the finest Italian cuisine in Rome, where you can eat, drink and bask in the wonder that is Rome.

Tourists & Catholic Pilgrims

Our group of seven traveled from the US to Rome and Florence as both tourists and Catholic pilgrims. We used Eternal City Tours because they offered private tours of history, art, and Catholicism. Eternal City Tours exceeded our expectation by being flexible, helped us navigate through cities new to us, and by providing highly educated tour guides who are passionate about their work. I highly recommend Eternal City Tours.

4 Basilicas, Ancient Rome and Rome Highlights

We saw so much of Rome in three days by Paul Encininas & Jan Bentz, two men so knowledgeable about Rome and it's treasures, so enthusiastic to share this knowledge and their Catholic Faith. They helped make our visit to Rome a memorable experience. Thanks to both, would recommend Eternal Tours if planning a trip to Rome Thank You Jim Prezioso

Great Value Tours

We really enjoyed our outing to Osta Antica and our highlights of Rome tour, too. Ostia Antica was much more meaningful with the guidance of Michele. As with James, on our first Eternal City tour, he spent more time with us than we expected and was a wonderfully informed guide. With our group of four, the private tours have been wonderful -- we could go at our own pace and explore our own interests. Great value for the fee.

We had 4 Fantastic Tours!

Our family (two adults and three young kids) had three fantastic tours with Eternal City Tours. Tom was great to work with to set up the tours. Our tour guides were James, Natalie and Paul. All three of them were VERY knowledgeable and and entertained us and the kids perfectly. The attention/information/entertainment we got absolutely made our trip fantastic. After the tours they also gave us great local advice on places to eat. After you see all of the people on poor tours you realize how great these tours are. Could not recommend Eternal City Tours more and especially James, Natalie and Paul.

Amazing Experience In Rome!

I and my wife, along with another couple had the pleasure of having Paul as our tour guide. Neither couple had ever visited Rome before; therefore, we left it up to Paul to choose the most interesting sites. To our surprise, Paul treated us to two amazing days, touring almost every historical site in Rome. His in-depth knowledge of Roman history concerning the sites we toured was impressive.
Paul is American born, raised and educated, and he speaks fluent Italian, this coupled with his pleasant and easy going personality made him a joy to listen to. We were truly lucky to get such a wonderful tour guide.

Fantastic & Inspiring!

We've been with Etearnal City Education now on our 3rd tour in 3 years. The tours - specifically with Paul - are the most inspiring we ever had in any part of the world. He brings ancient and medieval papal Rome to life with amazing intensitiy and color. Thanks once more, Paul!
